Education and Research Associates, Bodega Bay, California. Obtaining funding for qualitative research remains a challenge for many researchers, more so than for most quantitative research. In this article, the authors describe useful approaches to planning qualitative research and writing an application. Included is information on exploring funding sources that are likely to be receptive, developing a research plan and a team, and suggestions on the language to be used in the application.
