Dreams of My Daughter: An Ectopic PregnancyUniversity of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado, USA Autoethnographic narrative, personal journal excerpts, and artifacts were employed to narrate the story of my ectopic pregnancy and experiences with the medical field. The name "Doctor" is invoked as a way of objectifying yet protecting the anonymity of the doctor who objectified and did not protect me. A methodological discussion of the following tensions in autoethnography is presented: intimacy/professionality, art/science, showing/explaining.
